LASIK is a day care procedure performed under local anaesthesia. A preliminary eye exam is performed and measurements are taken to create a unique treatment profile for each individual eye. Anaesthetic drops are used to numb the eyes to make the procedure more comfortable A flap is created on the cornea and it is gently lifted back to expose the treatment area Light energy is used to precisely reshape the cornea Once treatment is complete, the flap is repositioned to form a natural bandage and the healing process begins The procedure is over without any pain or bandages Recovery takes little to no time at all and one can return to normal activities the following day.
Slight irritation may be present but the symptoms typically pass within a few days Vision may be slightly blurry or hazy. This clears up in a day.
